Annual Gala
For over 20 years Cohen Hillel Academy has been producing an annual Gala, featuring such entertainment as Peter, Paul & Mary, Bill Cosby, The Lion King, Mandy Patinkin and Wicked. The Gala is a joyous, community-wide celebration of Hillel and the integral role the school plays in our community. Each year the Dr. Bennett I. Solomon Community Leadership Award is presented to an honoree or honorees. The award was established to honor the memory of Cohen Hillel Academy’s beloved principal, and to recognize extraordinary commitment made by individuals to our school and the community. Proceeds from the Gala enable Cohen Hillel Academy to provide an outstanding education to students on the North Shore.
Winter Fun(d) Raiser
Cohen Hillel Academy hosts a winter event, attended primarily by parents, community friends and prospective Hillel parents. Previous events include Desserts, Drinks & Décor and Moguls & Munchies. Another fabulous event is planned for this winter. Watch for details.
The Major Donor Reception and Dinner
Each year a Major Donor Reception and Dinner is held in June in advance of the school’s Annual Meeting to honor and thank our donors for their support over the year.
The Henry Schlusselberg Educational Lecture Series
This educational lecture series, open to the public, is sponsored by Esther and Jack Schlusselberg, Evelyn and Robert Rothbard and Ruthie and Robert Salter in loving memory of their brother and Uncle Henry. Previous lecture speakers have included Erin Gruwell and Alan Dershowitz.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day
Cohen Hillel Academy invites grandparents and special friends to join our students for a chance to witness the amazing learning that happens here. Of course, grandparents and special friends are invited at any time to join in celebrations, holidays and Kabbalat Shabbat.
Friends of Hillel Library Annual Educational Forum
The Friends of Hillel Library (FOHL) Committee, chaired by Drs. Maura and Paul Copeland, is proud to present the Edith Bloch Award annually at an event open to the entire community. The award recognizes a member of members of our community for outstanding commitment to learning and the pursuit of knowledge.
