Through our Eunice and Sherman Seeche Cultural Arts Initiative, we were able to keep a long-time Cohen Hillel tradition – the spring musical! Our middle-school students came together to produce a musical that was a highlight of springtime at school. They were outstanding in their production of Twinderella.
Grades 5-7 presented their projects on the scientific method to the rest of the school on Wednesday. They were able to present their findings to their parents and families at night. The 8th graders, who have had a few years of practice, were the guest judges!
Our first and second graders learned about habitats, biomes and adaptation through interdisciplinary study. They did research, built dioramas, used the 3D printer, created replicas of biomes, learned and performed a musical and mastered the subject matter in the process. Thank you to Michelle Cove and Mediagirls for an invaluable 3-day workshop. Our middle school students learned that media needs the makeover – not them – and now they are empowered to change the story.
