   About Us

Creating critical thinkers through an academically challenging, student-centered program grounded in Judaism is what we are all about. While challenging students to reach their full potential, we recognize that children learn differently, and our dedicated faculty responds to those differences with innovation and respect.  Our children achieve on an individual level, grow  together as a deeply bonded community, and understand that they can affect the larger world around them.

While academic excellence is central to our mission, our dedication to providing an environment that promotes cooperation, caring and mutual respect among students, teachers, staff  and community are all equally important . This environment provides life lessons that shape the people our children will become. We view history, culture, observances, and the Hebrew language as threads that connect us to our Jewish heritage, our communities, and to the world. The ethics and values embedded in our heritage serve as our foundation.

Hillel Academy serves children from kindergarten through 8th grade from 22 communities on the North Shore and beyond. We are proud of our long tradition of excellence in integrating core academics and Jewish studies and of the nurturing and warm environment in which this learning takes place.

Our outstanding faculty provides exceptional general and Jewish education, specialized instruction in visual and performing arts,  physical education and computer science, as well rich extracurricular programming. We take enormous pride in our faculty and staff and in their devotion to our children.

The Hillel community is a reflection of the larger world around us.   Our familes come from all kinds of Jewish backgrounds and affiliations, family structures, and different socio-economic situations. They are interfaith and multicultural families, single parent families, and multiethnic families, and are the heart of the vibrant mosaic that is Hillel.

The skills and love of learning developed at Hillel serve our graduates for a lifetime. They are sought out by leading private and public secondary schools and by some of the most competitive colleges and universities in the country. We are proud that our school’s alumni have taken their places as leaders in the Jewish and greater community.
